Carola Ortiz<\/strong><\/p>

Daughter of a jazz musician and a mother connected to the theater, Carola Ortiz (Terrassa, 1986) is an artist from Terrassa who defines herself as a multifaceted creator and researcher. Trained in classical clarinet and jazz singing at ESMUC, since 2009 she has led musical projects that always begin from an artistic and vital challenge. Her boundless curiosity has led her to naturally and freely fuse the improvisation she absorbed in the jazz clubs where she grew up, the discipline acquired at the Conservatory of Terrassa, and the rhythmic and melodic strength of her Iberian roots. At the same time, she has incorporated influences from the music of the Eastern Mediterranean and India, the result of her numerous travels and stays in those regions.<\/p>

As a composer and producer, she has released five albums (“Sirin”, 2016; “Spirala”, 2018; “Pecata Beata”, 2021; “Cantareras”, 2023; and “Enll\u00e0”, 2025) and has brought her music to stages in more than twenty countries, performing in clubs, theaters, and international festivals. Her work has been recognized by national and international critics, including the Premi N\u00favol for Best Song Album (2021) and mentions in prestigious annual lists such as those of Ted Gioia and the World Music Charts Europe.<\/p>

Carola Ortiz has been a member of the Iberian percussion orchestra Coetus and has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Xabier D\u00edaz, Eliseo Parra, Roc\u00edo M\u00e1rquez, Ra\u00fcl Refree, Rosal\u00eda, S\u00edlvia P\u00e9rez Cruz, Llu\u00eds Vidal, Marco Mezquida, Roger Mas, as well as international figures like Debhashish Bhattacharya, The Mingus Orchestra, and Maria Schneider.<\/p>

With more than thirty recording collaborations across various genres, she has also contributed her voice and clarinet to theater works, musical performances, and documentaries.
